Hello again.

I just read Chris's piece on Michael Deacon, and was moved. His mention of Summer School moments took me straight back to 1999, and that monster combination of Barb's project on VOICE: RITUAL AND PLAY, and Mike's REST PERTURBED SPIRIT, which happened in the courtyard between the back entrance to the bar and the Annexe - unplanned, spontaneous juxtaposition.
Some things are just overwhelming. That was one. They make an indelible mark.
It's a Noo Year, it's a noo life....
John

Ahem.

Yes, sorry, it's me again - how embarrassing.
Having just read SS's review of Iphigenia I wanted to congratulate all involved, particularly Edward, and say how jealous I am that you have people in Luxembourg who are brave enough to put a play like this on. I hope you were rewarded with good audiences.
The reason for my particular interest in this item is that a couple of Munsbachs ago I was lucky enough to work on Iphigenia with Edward in Project III, and enjoyed the experience enormously - I am so glad Edward succeeded in putting it on. Almost makes you think life is worth living, doesn't it.
Well, that was it.

Love and hugs to all.
J

My second time at the Munsbach Theater School.

Chris / John - doesn't anything ever go wrong in the organization/logistics? How do you do it? It's so easy being in Munsbach - just think about the projects, the contacts and the environment and forget the rest. That's why I think people have trouble adapting to everyday routine back home. I know I did: 4 days in the office and I had to break out and drive off to Italy for a few days.
It's a bit humbling being well accepted into a group of people with such a lot of talent. Suggestions for improvements: Can't think of any - maybe ask the dog not to crap on the lawn.

Munsbach this year was a first for Paul and a seventh (I think) for me. Now at long last he knows what I've been talking about and can understand that otherworldliness feeling we all get at some time during the week. We both enjoyed it enormously and look forward to being able to attend again in the future. For Paul it was an opportunity to try and forget some of the pain he had been suffering during previous weeks and to meet lots of new and fascinating people. For myself, I renewed acquaintance with many old friends and made some new ones. The course content was hugely enjoyable and we have already been able to make use of some it in the 'real world'. We disappeared to the South of France for a well earned break straight after summer school and returned to work 2 days ago - oh boy, was that hard. Now our thoughts must turn to other things but the memories will linger on.

Thank you to everyone for making this year a very special one.

Hi everyone! What a great website. Well done Brian.
My second Munsbach was every bit as amazing as my first last year.
It was a real joy to see friends from last year and to make new ones this year.
The courses were brilliant, challenging, stimulating, exhausting, ennriching etc etc,
Congratulations to all the tutors and to John and Chris for making it all happen
When I saw the Chateau again I felt an enormous glow inside. I felt I had come home.
Coming with Sue this year really made it special, I have ranted and raved about Munsbach for the past year to her.
Now she has experienced it herself and understands.
We saw Barb Jungr in Edinburgh shortly after returning home.

She sends love to everyone.

Message to Brian. Trust the video arrived safely. Keep us informed about the production
Best wishes to all
Steve and Sue
Here's to 4th August 2001

Part of the magic of Munsbach is the "sharing" of each other's groups productions. Members from all over Europe gather (usually in the bar) to discuss what, where and when their group is performing and we leave each year with promises of "see you at the show" and "of course we'll be there".

For the past 4 or 5 years members of the AATG, New World Theater Club and others have managed now and again to keep these "promises". Saturday the 11th November Kathy and I traveled to Luxembourg to see New World Theatre Club's production of Iphigenia in Tauris where we also met up with Annette Kelly from Brussels and Helen Bannatyne also from The Hague in the theater bar. A review of the production can be found in the student contributions
